Sign “Fun”. Make your fingers form the “hang loose” surfing sign. Move them up and down in front of you. Don’t forget to smile with your lips and eyes! Repetition helps make your baby feel safe and learning increases. Signing and say ‘it’s time for some fun’ at the beginning of your activity signals to your infants that play-time is about to begin.

Say ‘hello’ to each baby while smiling and looking into their eyes say: “Hello my little friend! It makes me happy to see you today!” Get close enough so that they see the joy on your face. Thank you Jesus for all the pretty shapes! As the children are exploring their little softie set out the Rainbow sound Blocks. Say: Look at all these blocks! What shall we do with all our pretty blocks? As you build a small tower the children will probably knock it down and that is good! Clap your hands and sign “fun”. Yea! This is so much fun! Let’s do it again! As you play sing: All Kinds of Shapes. Give children time to exploring the different DIY shapes. Bring out the ‘diaper box’ and show them how to drop the ball into the box. (This activity helps your young children develop small muscle skills and eye/hand coordination. Have fun singing and talking as you describe each motion). Sing: Bounce and Roll.
